After moving from Newcastle, England, Sameet Singh’s plans unexpectedly turned when an AFL injury forced him to quit his landscaping job. Left with time to reflect, he leaned into his interest for fashion—a decision that evolved into Singh Studios, a brand reshaping Naarm’s streetwear landscape.

Crafting a Luxury Aesthetic

Crafted from a luxury 320gsm jersey cotton, Singh Studios t-shirts feature an oversized, boxy fit with dropped shoulders, a cropped hem, and a 2X1 ribbed neckline. More than just a staple, these versatile jersey tees have become synonymous with the brand, embodying its commitment to clean, minimal, and luxurious design. “Going for luxury, everything has to match—the branding, the content, the experience,” Sameet explains. With a continuous drive to refine and elevate its presence, Singh Studios has naturally resonated across diverse communities, blending contemporary menswear silhouettes with simplicity and quality.

 

What began as a personal project quickly evolved into something bigger. “I originally wanted [the brand] to be called Sameet Singh, but things were moving fast, and I just went with Singh Studios,” Sameet recalls, “Now it’s become—a community.” This instinctive approach extends to every creative decision, from silhouettes to color selection. “If I wouldn’t wear it, why would I sell it?” Sameet says, balancing personal vision with market demand. “There’s obviously a balance with what people want, but I have to believe in it.”

Global Reach, Local Base

Though based in Melbourne, Singh Studios draws strong influence from the UK, with London’s renowned fashion scene setting a benchmark for quality and innovation. “Whenever I go back, I see how much appreciation there is for well-made pieces,” Sameet shares. Recognising this demand, the brand has established a UK-based fulfillment system to streamline accessibility and enhance the customer experience. With continued growth, expansion into India and Asia is also on the horizon.

Building the right supply chain was a process of trial and error, guided by industry connections and a commitment to quality. “I’ve been lucky to have mates in the industry who have shared their suppliers and experiences,” Sameet explains. “It’s about finding people who genuinely care about the brand’s vision and want to see it grow.”

A Community That Keeps Coming Back 

Sameet describes one of the most rewarding aspects of the brand’s journey has been the loyalty of returning customers, with a 90% repeat base coming back for more. “Seeing customers come back again and again—it’s the best feeling, it shows we’re doing something right and creating pieces that truly resonate.” This strong connection with their community has reinforced Singh Studios' commitment to quality and thoughtful design. Developing a rhythm in visual storytelling and collaborating with other creatives has helped further refine the brand’s identity.

The launch of the first graphic tee marked a defining moment for Singh Studios—a tribute to Melbourne’s rich culture, featuring a striking eye graphic. “Melbourne is known for fashion, art, music, culture—the tee aimed to reflect that,” Sameet explains. Now, with milestones like being stocked at Wolf & Badger—a global retailer with stores in New York, London, and LA—Singh Studios continues to solidify its credibility on the international stage.

The Future of Singh Studios

 

The long-term vision is clear—Singh Studios aims to be synonymous with Melbourne fashion while expanding into international markets. “This year, I want to experiment more—still always with that high-end element,” Sameet explains. With its signature visual appeal firmly established, the brand is set to refine its identity even further.

 

In 2025, Singh Studios plans to release six key pieces, with new tees dropping soon. Rather than adhering to a rigid rollout plan, the brand embraces flexibility and creative spontaneity. Quality remains the priority, reinforcing the belief that well-crafted clothing is always worth the investment.
